With combined experiences in broadcast and print journalism, media relations, writing and editing, Shandra Hill Smith is the founder and executive director of Pullen Press. A freelance contributor to a number of publications, Smith has worked both as a television reporter and in a public relations capacity for The Home Depot and Morehouse School of Medicine.

A graduate of Georgia State University, Smith writes for Upscale and Brides Noir magazines, both national publications; The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Social Season magazine, Atlanta Tribune: The Magazine, Atlanta INtown newspaper, Atlanta Style & Design magazine, Atlanta’s Finest Dining and The Piedmont Review.

In addition, she is one of two subjects who inspired the Lifetime Television movie, “For One Night,” starring Raven-Symoné and Aisha Tyler, and the author of the novel, Actions Speak Louder.

The former writer for WSB-TV in Atlanta and reporter for a pair of CBS affiliates also has freelanced for national magazines Glamour and Weddingpages, as well as for Atlanta goodlife magazine.

Smith is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), co-owner with her husband of Doug Smith Photography and the mother of a baby girl, Braxton Camille.
